Michael Vergnani: Clinical Director

Mike is a graduate of Gettysburg College, received his Master’s degree in psychology from Connecticut College and his Doctorate from the University of Hartford.  He has over 15 years experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in public and private school settings.  Mike is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Clinical Director, Co-Founder / VP of RIAA.

Morgan Deschene: Secondary School Social Worker

With a masters degree in social work from Boston University, Morgan worked in the Providence, Pawtucket and Central Falls communities for several years. She has been working in an alternative education setting for over twelve years. She loves to work with children and their families to support and improve their lives.

Marielis Ortiz-Nin: Elementary Social Worker

Marielis Ortiz holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Yeshiva University. She is a certified and licensed professional specializing in work with elementary-aged students. Ms. Ortiz has prior experience as a home-based clinician, where she provided crisis intervention services. She is dedicated to advocating for children and their families, and is bilingual in English and Spanish, enhancing her ability to connect with diverse communities.

Clover: Therapy Dog

Clover Sprinkles is a credentialed therapy dog through the Windwalker Humane Coalition's DJ Professional Pet Assisted Therapy Program. In preparation for her work at RIAA, Clover completed three internships at a nursing home, school and library. She is a sweet rescue pup who loves attention (and treats!) from her students of all ages.
